Khaki Top, Floral Skirt & T-Rex Brooch!

Image
I'm always on the hunt for unusual and quirky accessories.  I had a recent trip to one of my favourite local stores and had success!  One of my purchases was the cute  Cherry Earrings in my last post.  Another of my new additions is this yellow T-Rex brooch.  So cute and quirky!  I decided to pin it to a khaki top and wear my long and floaty floral skirt.   The Brooch: Tattooed Zombie The outfit: Top: Suzanne Grae Skirt: Tree of Life Shoes: Rivers Ring: Diva Bracelet: Bought at markets Bag: Marikai Thank you for visiting my blog! Cheery Cherries!

Image
This week has been a great week but also quite exhausting! Also, with all the rain we've had this week, it has seemed a little gloomy!  That's why yesterday I decided to go bright with a red top and my new cherry earrings!  I decided to add my cherry blossom brooch too, to add to the cheery cherriness!!😉 I bought this skirt about three years ago in Osaka, Japan.  The store sold a mix of new and pre-loved clothing and accessories. It was such a cool store! I'd love to go back again and spend the whole day there rummaging around for goodies!😉 The outfit: Top: Sussan Skirt: Bought in Japan Shoes: Rivers Brooch Cheery Cherry Blossom by Erstwilder Earrings Tattooed Zombie Ring: Lovisa Bag: Rockmans Amber: This paw rest she calls a brooch is certainly very comfortable to rest my weary paws on after such an exhausting photo shoot! Dress as a skirt & brooch as a necklace!

Image
This has been such a busy week!  My two university classes went really well and I am excited to be studying again, learning new things and meeting new people.  Thank you so much to you, my blog friends, for your kind words of encouragement.  I really appreciate it! Today's outfit is a dress that I wore as a skirt.  When I saw it on the hanger at the store, I just assumed it was a shirred waist skirt. When I got home, I noticed that the tag said it was actually a sleeveless dress!  Wearing it as a dress looked absolutely ridiculous on me, but I was happy with wearing it as a skirt! The skirt dress or is it the dress skirt?!😂 The outfit: Top: Sussan Dress/Skirt: Mix Clothing Shoes: Gino Ventori In the spirit of converting things, I decided to wear my brooch as a necklace! The Eye of the Tiger!

Image
Tomorrow night I am returning to the postgraduate study I started three years ago.  I am a bit nervous about it, but I am excited and determined to get through the course this time, so that I can get the qualification I need to land the job of my dreams!  Wish me luck, please!😉 So, as I embark on this challenge, I thought an outfit with tigers in it was appropriate, as a sartorial metaphor for my motivation and determination to finish the course this time round!  Last time round three years ago, due to various obstacles, I dropped out of the course.  This time, I am going to achieve my master's degree! I am not going to lose sight of my end goal! It's the eye of the tiger!😉 Let me just clarify that I love the song "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor and find it to be a really motivational song, however I have never seen any of the Rocky films and I never plan to! No judgement if you like the films though!😉 The outfit: Top: H & M Skirt: AVON Shoe

The Birds & The Beads!!

It has been so hot and humid the last few days with thunder storms every evening.  It's the kind of heat that causes you to sweat every time you move.  Not pleasant!   It's a good thing I have this blog because it encourages me to be more creative with my outfits and to make the most of my wardrobe.  Otherwise, in this heat, I would be tempted to just wear the same two sleeveless dresses I own every day just to stay cool!  Thankfully, I've been in aircon most of the week! I bought this skirt a few years ago in Japan.  I love the colours and the bird print.  I decided to stick with the blue and green colour theme for my accessories and chose to use my peacock bag to continue the bird theme! Patchwork Print Skirt Styled 2 Ways!

Image
Happy Valentine's Day!  My husband and I don't do anything special for Valentine's Day, so there isn't a special outfit for today!   Instead, I thought I would show how I've styled this patchwork print skirt in 2 new ways!  I've worn this skirt many times before with a plain black, grey or orange top.  This time I tried 2 new tops with this old favourite! The skirt: Crossroads Outfit 1: Top: Sussan Shoes: Holster I bought this necklace very recently, so this was my first time to wear it.  I love the colours!  I'm such a sucker for beaded necklaces!  In my opinion, you can never have too many!😉 Millers Ring: Diva Bracelet: Rockmans Kenneth Cole Reaction Bag: Present from Mum Mum just returned from a trip to Hawaii with some awesome presents, like the bag above!  Thanks, Mum!😉 Outfit 2: Top: Millers Shoes: Holster I love the embroidery on this top!  So pretty! Rainbows & Unicorns!

Today has been another really hot and sweaty day!  One of those days, where if you are not inside an air conditioned room, you feel that you may truly, if not certainly, melt away!   It really has been a long, hot and humid summer, so when there was a break in the heat the other day, which saw the temperature drop quite dramatically for a very brief amount of time, I took the opportunity to wear my new jeans!   I was so happy for the cool change, that I wore the brightest and cheeriest top I own: I call it my rainbow top!😉.  Of course, this was also the perfect opportunity to wear my new unicorn shoes again and other colourful accessories!
