Colourful Cardis & Maxi Skirts
Yay for cardi weather! After a long and brutally hot and humid summer, it is finally starting to cool down. We're still quite a ways away from long sleeved cardis, jumpers and coats, but I'm happy to be able to wear my colourful short sleeved cardis for now!
Over the years I have built up quite a fabulous collection of cardis in many different colours and styles. They really are a wardrobe staple for me and are a great way to add colour to a neutral base. In both of these outfits I wore a black tank top as a base, chose a maxi skirt and then found a cardi to match. Easily done!
Outfit 1:
Tops: Katies
Cardi: Millers
Skirt: bought in Tokyo
Sandals: Gino Ventori
This crochet cardi is a firm favourite of mine and gets a lot of wear. It brightens up any outfit and I love the textural look and feel of crocheted garments. If only I could knit and or crochet! I have such admiration for the crafty people out there!
This is actually the first wear of this skirt! I bought it in Tokyo from a funky Indian clothing store two years ago and only came across it in a recent tidy up! It has an elasticated waist, but is still quite tight. I found that tucking the tank top into the skirt and blousing it a bit made it much more comfortable. Still, I am glad I only wore this out for a short amount of time, as I fear I would have ripped it or myself if I stayed in it all day! Ha! ;)
Ring: H&M
Bag: present from Mum (Thailand)
Outfit 2:
Top: Katies
Cardi: Millers
Skirt: Tree of Life
Sandals: Gino Ventori
I hadn't worn this skirt for ages, so it was well and truly time to wear it! Mum recently bought this khaki coloured cardi, so I thought it would match nicely. In real life, the cardi and skirt match perfectly, but the colour of the cardi photographs a bit differently. Either way, I think it was a good combo! This skirt has a jungle vibe to it so I accessorised with my Tree of Life necklace and leopard ring!
Necklace: Tree of Life pendant by Nest of Pambula (on own chain)
Ring: Lovisa
Bag: Millers
Close-up of my leopard ring!
I'm so glad it's cooled off a little! I had jeans and ankle boots on this week (not both in the same outfit, but still, it's nice to feel something other than unbearable humidity, haha!) You look great in both outfits but I really like all the neutrals in the second one - you suit neutrals just as much as you do brights! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wonderful weekend :) We are having a busy but fun filled one!

DeleteAs always I like both outfits. My usual would be.no.1 as I like bright colours but in this instance, I really like no.2. The tree of life pendant made the choice easier.Flossie xxx

DeleteWhat a shame that skirt is a bit tight, as it's such a fabulous print! Outfit No. 1 is definitely my favourite, but I guess you'd have been surprised if I told you otherwise ;-) But oh how I adore that Tree of Life pendant you're wearing with Outfit No. 2! Have a fabulous (and cool) weekend, Sasah! xxx

ReplyDeleteAh yes cardis are so fun. You have quite the collection here. I don't have that many really when i think about it. I think it is b/c in NY we have very little in-between weather. It is either cold, boiling hot or raining we from winter to rain to heat and humidity. We probably have 10 nice days a year lol
