Autumn Assortment

Image
I really can't believe we have come to the end of autumn and winter is about to start!  The weather cooled down dramatically a few days ago courtesy of an Antarctic air blast moving a series of cold fronts across Australia.  Luckily for us here in Brisbane, it never really gets too cold, as we do have a subtropical climate.  The cold snap has brought over night temps of 6°C though, which is pretty cold for subtropical!  No swimming at the beach in this weather, that's for sure!  I really do love this time of year though, especially after the sweltering summer.  During the day the temp gets to around 20°C and when it's a sunny day, it is glorious!  The perfect time to go for a walk and soak up some sunshine!  So before winter officially starts, I thought I'd share some of my autumnal outfits that I never got around to sharing with you!  The next time I post I'll be getting out the winter wear!   How is the weather where you are?  Are you experiencing the col

Brilliant Brooches!

I have quite an extensive collection of Erstwilder brooches!  (This is not a sponsored post.  I just love them and want to share them with you!)   I only started collecting them in 2017 and my collection has expanded rapidly!  I had never really thought of brooches as an accessory that would appeal to me, but when I first discovered Erstwilder, I soon became hooked!  I just love their fun and quirky designs and how they can take any outfit from drab to fab!   I have my brooches set up on a special display stand, so that I can admire them at all times!  The only problem with that is that I often forget to actually wear them!  I recently wore a brooch (see below in outfit 2) for Mother's Day and this has now prompted me to get back into wearing brooches!  I also enjoy seeing the brooches Ann wears on her blog  Polyester Princess .  Thanks for the brooch inspiration, Ann!😉 Outfit 1: Top: Sussan Cardi: thrifted Skirt: Robert Louis Shoes: Rivers Olive Owl Brooch b

Embellished Cardi, Colourful Skirt & Metallic Accessories

I feel like autumn has only just arrived here and in a few weeks it'll be winter already!  I'm not complaining though!  I do love the weather at this time of year and fully embrace the cool change to come!  I love that the mornings and evenings are cool, but the day time is warm.  It really is a great time of year.  Another thing I enjoy, is that I can finally wear my long sleeved tops, cardigans and jumpers!   There are loads of fun embellished cardis around at the moment.  I bought 2 the other day!  The first one is this pretty stud embellished cardi.  It's such a gorgeous colour and I love the metallic studs on it.  I decided to wear one of my fave blue tops underneath it and also my multi-patterned midi skirt. The colour scheme is very autumnal, so it prompted me to accessorise with mixed metal jewellery and rose gold coloured shoes!  I love metallic accessories and think they are always fun to wear, whether or not they are considered on trend or not!   I a

Styling Embroidered Jeans

I am absolutely loving the weather right now!  The days are mostly still warm but there's a bit of a cool change in the air and the nights are cooling down.  It's such a pleasant relief after such a sweltering summer!  I even wore jeans a few days ago for the first time this year!   I bought these embroidered jeans last year and wore them lots until it became too hot!  I love embroidered pieces of clothing!  They just add that bit of extra colour, fun and creativity to a garment.  I'm sure I will get a lot more wear out of these jeans from now until the heat returns!   Outfit 1: Top: Rockmans Cardi: Suzanne Grae Jeans: Rockmans Shoes: H&M Japanese Flower Pendant: thrifted I found this flower shaped kimono fabric pendant on a recent op-shop trip.  I added it to a black metallic chain and voila, a new necklace is made!  This was such a good find!  It was only $2!  I saw many similar pendants in Japan and they were much more expensive than tha

Styling Red Paisley Pants

With the weather finally starting to cool down, I can now finally wear my (many!) pairs of colourful patterned pants!  I bought this red paisley pair last year and I absolutely love them!  They are such a vibrant mix of colours and of course I love the paisley print.  Also, they are just so comfortable to wear!  For this year's first wear, I decided to wear a black top and my new red cardi.  I love the detailing on the sleeves and of course, the bright red colour!  This was also my first time to wear my new HCD shoes.  How could I not wear them?  They match perfectly!  ;) The Outfit: Top: Katies Cardi: Millers Pants: Rockmans Necklace: Rockmans Ring: present from Mum Bag: Handbag Republic I love the detailing on the sleeves Shoes: Habana Carmine Chocolaticas by HCD Yes!  I bought  another  pair of HCD shoes recently!  They were on sale though! ;)  Past wears on the blog: See original post  here See original post  here
