Styling a black cat top

Image
How cute is this top?  I couldn't resist! As you know by now, I love animals on clothing, shoes and accessories!
I've already featured my tops with hummingbirds, chameleons and foxes! Cats were the next logical step for me as I do have two cats!

Styling my new koi brooch

Image
When I saw the Japan inspired brooch collection at Erstwilder, it was hard to resist buying them all!  I already own a few others and I just could not resist this one! The colours of this koi (carp) brooch in real life are just so beautiful: a true work of art.

I studied Japanese language and culture at university and lived in Japan for two years. Living in Japan was an amazing experience and Japan will always be my second home.

I try to visit Japan as often as I can to catch up with friends, practise my language skills, go shopping and eat authentic Japanese cuisine!

Styling a patchwork print top

Image
When it comes to choosing clothes and accessories, I love lots of different colours, patterns and textures.  Imagine my delight when I spied this top, which has my fave colours and patterns all mixed together in the one garment!
Patchwork prints are not only gorgeous and interesting, they are so versatile! They can be paired with plain or patterned prints and worn with lots of different accessories. This time I chose to focus on red for my accessories.

Styling my new beaded turquoise necklace

Image
Isn't this necklace awesome? When I first saw it I loved everything about it: the colour, the beads, the price and the chunky style! It is very me, so you'd think that would mean I would have no hesitations in buying it, right? Wrong! I had doubts like maybe it's a bit too bright, too chunky and too attention-grabbing.

Maybe it's just because I've been doing an assignment all week on cognitive-behavioural therapy, but I know these superficial doubts reflect deeper doubts relating to self-confidence. Luckily my best mate was with me and encouraged me to buy it!
Instead of sticking to a no-buy challenge, which is impossible for me because I love shopping, my new challenge is to wear what I want because I love it! No more negative thoughts like: maybe it'll draw too much attention to me or maybe I can't wear it because I'm not thin etc etc. I will wear what I want because it makes me happy!
What we wear should be determined by what we love and not by o…

Styling block colours

Image
I don't usually wear a block colour top with a block colour bottom. I usually wear a patterned top with a plain bottom or vice versa.

It was fun to try something different but I must say, I was missing my patterns! That's why I had to wear patterned accessories!

Styling a foxy top!

Image
Now, when I say foxy, I don't mean sexy, I mean literally there are foxes on my top! As I've mentioned before, I love the incorporation of animals into fashion! My favourites are owls, foxes, birds and butterflies!

I normally just wear my fox top with jeans, but it was fun to wear it differently this time!
