Styling a plain black tee

I have lots of plain black tees in my wardrobe.  Although they can be a bit drab worn by themselves, they are like a blank canvas and act as a great backdrop, allowing accessories to take centre stage!

  1. I like the way you have dressed up your black tee. I agree you need to dress up black as it can be a bit somber on its own. Choosing the shades of mauve that you have has indeed lifted the black. That gorgeous cat is certainly a great muse. She even seems to appreciate the colours more this time.

  2. That skirt is awesome! I have a few black pieces - they are great for popping accessories or a statement piece. I do try to keep even a black piece special: not just a shirt, but a leather one or a funky cut.

    1. Thank you so much for your comment Sheila! I really appreciate it. I love the idea of a black top in a different texture or fabric to keep it more interesting. I'll have to keep an eye out when I go shopping next! Thanks again Sheila!

  3. Your accessories really do pop with a plain black tee. Nice look! Do you accessorise with white as well?

    1. Thank you very much! Accessorising a white top would indeed be a styling challenge as I (surprisingly) don't own any white tops!! Perhaps I should buy one soon....XXX
