Feeling Dotty!

Image
Last weekend we went to see the  Yayoi Kusama   Life Is The Heart Of A Rainbow exhibition at QAGOMA in Brisbane.  It was lots of fun for my husband and I and our seven year old son enjoyed it too!  The day after the exhibition, I still had dots on the brain, so I chose to wear my recently thrifted dotty skirt!  It's such a nice fabric and fit and only cost $5!  You can't beat that!😉.  I wanted to pair it with a yellow top, as I just loved the yellow and black combination featured in Yayoi Kusama's work.  I don't have any yellow tops, so I chose orange instead! I kept the spotty/dotty theme throughout with my accessories too! Embroidered Top Styled 4 Ways!

Image
My last post was all about how much I love black tops, so I thought I'd mix it up a bit by doing a post wearing my white embroidered top!  I have never ever liked or worn white tops ever before this top!  In fact when I was shopping with my friend and bought this top, she almost fainted!😂  "It's white!", she gasped.  "Yep!  But look at the embroidery and sleeves!" I explained.  My friend (who loves white) was excited to see me buying it!  "Yay!  Your first white top!" she squealed!  The staff probably thought we were bonkers!😂 I love the boho vibe of this top and although my instinct was to grab this top in black, I'm happy I chose the white!  It's nice to know that at 41, I can still surprise myself (and my friends!😉). Here are 4 ways I've worn this top recently. Outfit 1: Outfit 2: Outfit 3: I actually wore this outfit at the end of last week when there was a temporary break in the hot weather!...

Black Doesn't Have To Be Boring!

Image
I love colour!  I love colourful skirts, pants and accessories.  When it comes to accessorising, the brighter the better! I absolutely adore bright and vibrant colours all around me.  Colour makes me happy!   So, why do I wear black tops so often? Well, the simple answer is: I feel more comfortable and less "exposed" in a black top.  I feel my bust size (and gut size😉) are a little less obvious in a black top!  So, in a black top I feel less self-conscious and brave enough to go bright for the rest of the outfit!  In fact, when I wear black on top I put extra effort into planning the rest of the outfit and making sure it isn't dull and boring!  Here are 10 outfits I've worn recently.  Hopefully these outfits demonstrate that black doesn't have to be boring and that even though I wear black tops, I'm all about the colours!😉 Outfit 1: Top: Sussan Skirt: Crossroads Shoes: Rivers Necklace: Lovisa Bag & Bracelet: Pr...

I was so excited to get my new pair of awesome shoes!  I already own one pair of Hot Chocolate Design shoes (the cupid ones below), and I just love them!  I love the quirky designs and they are just so comfy! (This is not a sponsored post: I bought both pairs myself! I just love them!😉) Without further ado, let me introduce you to my new shoes!😉 The new shoes: Lucy In The Sky by Hot Chocolate Design (Chocolaticas) I've had my eye on these for a while, as I've been into all things unicorn lately!  As soon as they arrived I couldn't wait to put them on, so I did!  They were delivered in the morning, a day earlier than expected, so I didn't really have a chance to plan my outfit.  I just grabbed my favourite colourful accessories and was out the door!  It's not really one of my favourite outfits, but oh, well!  I was just happy to be wearing my new shoes!  The outfit: Top & Skirt: Sussan The accessorie...

Mixed-Print Top, Khaki Skirt & Thrifted Bag!

Image
I bought this top on sale the other day and was excited to wear it!  I wasn't sure what to wear it with for the first time, but I decided to pair it with this khaki skirt that I've had for about 10 years.  I chose bright accessories to match the colours from the top and I used my recently thrifted dark green bag for the first time!  It's a great bag and fits lots inside it!  I bought it with the tags still on it, so it was a great deal for $10. My watch is new (thanks Mum!).  I love the colour and the band has little flowers and butterflies on it.  So pretty! Australia Day Dress!

Yesterday was Australia Day and I've been enjoying a nice and relaxing weekend.  It was a really hot day yesterday (as is today!😉), so I chose to wear my new dress, that just happens to be in the colours of the Aussie flag! I never wear sleeveless tops or dresses, because I don't like to show my jiggly bare arms, but it was soooo hot that I figured, who cares?!😉I actually really like this dress and it was so nice and cool and comfy.   The outfit: Dress: Autograph Shoes: Birkenstock The bag: Banned Apparel How cool is this bag?!  I love it so much!  I bought it in the Boxing Day sales!  Necklace: Hot Lips Shoes Ring: Lovisa We made Damper in the afternoon and it was delicious!  My seven year old had a great time kneading the dough!  Damper We also ate Lamington Fingers, which were also yummy, but store bought, so not as good as our Damper!😉 Lamington  Fingers ...
