Feeling Dotty!

Last weekend we went to see the Yayoi Kusama Life Is The Heart Of A Rainbow exhibition at QAGOMA in Brisbane.  It was lots of fun for my husband and I and our seven year old son enjoyed it too!

The day after the exhibition, I still had dots on the brain, so I chose to wear my recently thrifted dotty skirt!  It's such a nice fabric and fit and only cost $5!  You can't beat that!๐Ÿ˜‰.  I wanted to pair it with a yellow top, as I just loved the yellow and black combination featured in Yayoi Kusama's work.  I don't have any yellow tops, so I chose orange instead! I kept the spotty/dotty theme throughout with my accessories too!

The outfit:
Top: Suzanne Grae
Skirt: Bought at Op-Shop (brand unknown)
Shoes: Holster

The accessories:
Bag: Sportsgirl
Earrings, Ring & Bracelet: Lovisa

  1. I think Amber prefers stripes! What a great inspiration that exhibit was - I think all those dots might drive me batty, though, ha! I love that you have the round/dot theme in everything - that kind of detail is great.

  2. I think that Amber probably is pleased you don't have a yellow top as she looks so much better with orange. That exhibition seems quite interesting as the quote from Yayoi Kusama shows she is a very creative artist even if just a little eccentric.

  3. I'm loving the dotty exhibition and how you were inspired by it. Orange is a great colour on you, and you've accessorized brilliantly as usual! xxx

  4. Oh I love your outfit inspired by the exhibition! We went there for Australia day, it was SO good. We only got to see the obliteration room before the toddlers reached their limits on behaving and needed to run around outside away from the priceless artworks, ha! But I had hoped to see more. Maybe next time if it comes to Brisbane again :)

Hope you've been having a lovely week! Another busy one here, but not as stressful as last week so that's nice :)

    1. Thanks so much, Mica! The obliteration room was so much fun, wasn't it?! We also didn't get to see everything because the queues were so long! Hope you've had a great weekend out of the heat! ;) XXX
