Well, spring has most certainly sprung here in Brisbane the last few days!  It was so warm today that it seemed like we are well into spring, rather than at the beginning!  I really do love this time of year.  It's cool first thing in the morning, warm during the day and cool overnight.  It really is a wonderful time of year!  After a recent edit of my wardrobe, I noticed how many midi skirts I own!  They are the best length for me and I have accumulated quite a few over the years since midi skirts made a comeback!  I recently bought two new cheap and cheerful midi skirts.  The first is a geo print pleated skirt and the second, a bright red with white flower button up skirt.  Both were only about $15 each and I'm sure I'll be getting a lot of wear out of them over spring and summer!  Outfit 1: Top: Sussan Cardi: Crossroads Skirt: Kmart Earrings: Lovisa Necklace: Rockmans Ring & Bangle: Lovisa Bag...

I cannot believe it is already halfway through August already!  How is that possible?  Speaking of the impossible, my beautiful son just turned nine years old!  How is that possible?  Life just keeps moving fast.  As the truly wise (haha!) Ferris Bueller said:  "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it"   With spring just around the corner, one cannot help but think of florals, despite Miranda Priestly's misgivings! Having said that, I do wear florals all year round and especially enjoy wearing them when it is cold and gloomy.  This past week has really been a four seasons in one day kind of week!  It's been cold, windy, sunny, warm, rainy and foggy!  The outfits in this post were worn before the cold and windy snap the past few days.  It's been way too gusty to wear midi skirts with bare legs the last few days! Another day, another fun colour combo to try!  It's not that I haven't worn pink and black before, but it has been a long time!  I think pink and black go so well together because the black is a little edgy and the pink is a little sweet and together they are a perfect match!  It was about a year ago that I last wore this colour combo and at that time I was inspired by my brand new Candy Skull Chocolaticas (see below)!  A year later and I am still in love with these fun and quirky shoes and can't resist wearing pink and black when I wear them!   In the first outfit I chose to wear a few different shades of pink with black and added some fun pink accessories.  It had been ages since I'd worn this pretty cherry blossom brooch, so I knew this outfit was the perfect opportunity!  I also wore my new tassel earrings and chunky pink ring that I've had for over ten years!  Outfit 1: Top: Sussan Cardi: Millers Skirt: Rockmans ...

It's my 2nd blogiversary!  I have really enjoyed blogging and have learnt so much through this process and made some lovely friends.  I thought in this post I would share with you some of my fave outfits and what I have learnt over the past two years. Things I have learnt from blogging so far: To embrace my style: Blogging has helped reconnect me to my style and preferred way of dressing.  I was definitely stuck in a rut and had lost my creativity.  Through blogging I have embraced my love of colour and accessories and this has helped me to become more in tune with myself and my individual style.  To think before I buy: Before I started looking at blogs and starting my own, I never thought before I bought!  If I wanted something and could afford it, I would buy it!  I didn't even consider whether I actually needed it, what I would wear it with or if it was made ethically.  I still have a long way to go, but now I do think...

Blue and yellow would have to be one of my favourite colour combinations to wear!  It's a combination that I wear quite often and always love putting old pieces together to make new outfits.  I've had this skirt for several years and it is such an unusual piece.
