Black Tops & Colourful Skirts!

Hi Blog Friends!  How are you?  I hope things are going well for you.  As much as I love wearing colour from head to toe, sometimes I enjoy wearing a black top with a colourful skirt or pants.  Wearing a black top allows the bottom part of your outfit to take centre stage and is the perfect blank canvas for colourful and vibrant accessories.  It is also an easy go-to when not sure what to wear.  White tops are also an easy go-to, but I've never really liked wearing white against my pale skin!  Here are some of the outfits I've worn recently.  Most of these are still me playing dress-up, as even though some of the restrictions have lifted here, I am still mostly at home!

    As always I really like all of your outfits. I confess that I wear a lot of plain coloured tops with skirts. My favourite is no.1 as that skirt is just beautiful. My second choice is no.3. That maker, Isle of Summer, has some fabulous fabrics. Flossie xxx

    I think this is a great outfit formula! I really need to add more basic black tops to my wardrobe - I just have the one black tee and a couple tanks, but they always go with everything!

    I like each of these outfits but I think with the red floral maxi skirt is my fave :)

    I never liked wearing white tops either, but I had a phase where I was wearing a lot of black, and would always team printed skirts with a plain black top. I hardly ever do that anymore, although I still think it's a great look. A Wonderful round-up of pretty skirts, with my favourite being the red floral maxi. This really stand out for me, as I love a pop of red and it does look great on you. Also loving the necklace you're wearing with that outfit! Hope your week is going well! xxx

Colourful Crop Cardis & Midi Skirts

Our internet is in and out at the moment, so while it's in , I'm going to go for it! The outfits I'm sharing with you today are quite different on the surface, as the colour schemes are dramatically different!  The first one has lots of autumnal colours and a bit of a 1970s vibe and the second one features more summery colours with a slight nautical vibe!  When I wore these outfits recently, I never thought they were similar at all, until I was going through my blog photos and realised both outfits were made up of colourful tees, cropped cardis and midi skirts!  So in that realisation, this post was born! My favourite outfit is the first one, because I haven't worn those colours much before and I was happy pairing these items together for the first time!  I like the second outfit as well, but I do wear blue and red together quite often.  Actually, it might be a good outfit for Australia Day, which is coming up soon! Burgundy & Beads!

Can you believe it is almost the end of February?  I am still getting used to it being 2019, and the second month is already almost over!  This is my last week to get everything sorted out before my postgraduate studies resume again next week.  I haven't even ordered my textbooks yet!  I really need to get organised!   In the outfit I'm sharing today, I'm wearing one of my fave maxi skirts that I've had for many, many years!  I've worn it with many different coloured tops over the years, but this was the first time wearing my new burgundy coloured top.  I love the burgundy and wine colours that are around at the moment.  They're so pretty!
