Dropping Anchor

Image
Well, July is almost over.  Can you believe it?  I know I can't! That also means that "No Buy July" is drawing to a close.  I must admit I really struggled and must confess to buying a few items over the course of the month.  Nothing major, but still, I didn't stick to it completely!  That may suggest that I didn't learn anything from this challenge, but that is definitely not true!  In fact, all month I was conscious of all of the items I have in my wardrobe and had fun coming up with new outfit combinations. For example, while going through my accessories, I discovered I have an anchor ring and anchor necklace, which gave me the inspiration for this outfit.  I love when accessories work together to create an outfit, don't you?!   So, as a challenge for one month I didn't really succeed, but as an exercise in making the most of what I have and thinking before I buy, I definitely succeeded.  Not just for one month, but for ...

Spontaneous Snapshots!

Image
I was out and about with the family last weekend, when we happened upon a wall painted like a bookcase full of books!  I hadn't planned to take any photos for the blog, but I thought it would be a fun backdrop for some spontaneous snapshots! There were quite a lot of people around, so I quickly jumped in front of the wall and hubby took a few photos!   Before I started blogging, I would never have taken random photos of myself out and about!  I have always taken photos of my family, but not of myself.  Now that I'm blogging, I have become more aware of my surroundings and of making the most of each and every day.  Seize the day! Same Accessories: 2 Different Outfits!

Image
I finally received my fantastic new shoes in the mail after ordering them waaay back in March!  They were very happily received, as I admit I have struggled with the whole "no buy July" thing!  I was inspired by the colours of these fabulous shoes and based outfit 1 around them.  I loved the colour combo and the accessories I wore so much that I decided to keep the same accessories and colour scheme and create a second outfit!   The accessories: Neko the Beckoner Brooch (worn as a necklace): Erstwilder Ring: Diva Bag: Handbag Republic Shoes: Neko Chocolaticas by Hot Chocolate Design Outfit 1: Top: Sussan Cardi: Target Skirt: Big W Outfit 2: Top: Sussan Cardi: Target Pants: Rockmans Which outfit did you prefer?  Let me know! First Blogiversary!

Image
For my first blogiversary, I thought it would be a fun time to do a best of "Who wore it better?" Now of course I know that Amber will win every time, but I'm ok with that!  I know that she is the star of the blog (and at home!)😂 I have really enjoyed blogging for the past year and have loved sharing my outfits and ideas with you.  The most wonderful thing about blogging has been making friends from all over the world!  Amber and I want to thank you so much for reading this blog and for all of your lovely comments.  We really appreciate your support.  We look forward to many more years of blogging and friendships!   We hope you enjoy the best of: "Who wore it better, Sasha or Amber?" Flower Power

Image
There's nothing like a bit of flower power to brighten a cold winter's day!  This skirt is an old favourite and is one of my summer staples.  I think this is actually its first winter wear!  I decided to pair it with a scarf that matches the colours and with other floral accessories.  You know how much I love matchy-matchy!  The outfit: Top: Sussan Cardi: Target Scarf: present from Mum Skirt: Sirocco Boots: Colorado Bag: bought at op-shop Earrings: Sussan Ring: Lovisa Two other ways I've worn this skirt: Thank you for visiting my blog! Winter Greens

Image
I (surprisingly) have quite an extensive collection of scarves.  I say surprisingly because living in a sub-tropical climate means there's not many weeks in a year that warrant wearing them!  As an accessory aficionado (self-proclaimed!) though, I of course love them, even if I don't wear them often living here! When I lived in Japan, the winters were cold, so wearing a (heavy) scarf was less about style and more a necessity to keep warm!  In Autumn, it was fun to wear lighter scarves for the cooler days, and so my wear scarves for fun rather than warmth collection was born!   About half of the scarves in my collection were bought overseas by me and the other half were bought overseas by Mum! Thanks Mum! Although I have been to New York, the scarf I am wearing in this photo was bought by Mum when she visited New York not too long ago.   This was my first wear of this scarf and I absolutely loved it!  The outfit: Studded Knit ...

Chameleons

Image
You know how much I love an animal motif top!  In fact this is the third top with an animal motif that I've worn so far this winter.  First I wore hummingbirds (see post  here ).  Then I wore moths (see post  here ).  Now it's time for chameleons!   I've had this top for a few years now and love wearing it.  The print is quirky and fun and it is really comfy to wear.  I usually wear this top with jeans, but this time I decided to pair it with my earthy brown skirt for the first time.  I chose my vibrant yellow bag to brighten up the outfit and gold accessories to match the bag's gold hardware. Cute As A Button

Image
I've been going through all of my necklaces this week to see what I actually have, instead of looking to buy more and more!  I am lucky to have so many fabulous necklaces in every colour of the rainbow!  During my sorting, I rediscovered this fabulous pink button necklace that Mum bought for me last year at a craft market.  The lady who made it is elderly and I am just so impressed by how intricate it is!  A true work of art. Anyway, I couldn't wait to wear this necklace again after a few months.  I always love wearing handmade accessories because they are so unique and special and always made with love! I decided to pair it with this knit top and pink floral pants.  I'm not really sure what to call the colour of this top (dark green?), but I thought it matched the pants quite well.  I love the back of this top with it's longer length and different material in the middle.  I also found an old (vintage!) bag of mine that I bought ov...
