Boho Summer Dresses
Well, there is absolutely no denying that summer is well and truly underway here in Brisbane! My son only has two more days of school left and then he's on holidays for six weeks! My birthday is coming up in a few days and then there's Christmas of course and then the New Year! How is that even possible?! This year has really flown by! I really can't believe it.
Anyway, back to the outfits! With the humidity rising during the day, it is definitely the perfect time to wear cool and breezy dresses. Can you believe I actually only have four dresses in my entire wardrobe? As much as I love dresses on other people, it is hard to find a dress that flatters my figure. As an apple shape, most dresses tend to add bulk to my mid-section and make me look heavily pregnant!! Not a great look! While I don't care about fashion "do's" and "don'ts", I do care about looking pregnant when I'm not!!
Anyway (again), back to the outfits! I was delighted to rediscover the dress I'm wearing in the first outfit. I bought it at least ten years ago and hadn't worn it for years! I had remembered (incorrectly!) that it was too low cut and too short, so therefore it had been relegated to the deep dark depths of my wardrobe. The other day I thought I'd try it on, just out of curiosity, and was pleasantly surprised! I love its unique print and colour combo and it's cool and comfy. As the dress is sleeveless, I added my crochet cardi for coverage and some extra colour! I was happy to wear my gorgeous toucan bag again, as it is such a vibrant and fun piece. Perfect for summer!

The second dress I've had for a few years now and I really like the colour combo and print. It's also sleeveless, so I added a cardi for coverage again. It was fun accessorising this outfit with some boho beads and sandals. I also love my Lily Bloom bag, which is made from recycled plastic.
Outfit 2:
Dress: Crossroads
Knit cardi: Autograph
Necklace: Autograph
Bracelets: Lovisa

I really like the way you have accessorized both of these outfits which, therefore, makes it difficult to decide which one I like best. I'm surprised that I really like the first, yellow, outfit as I always steer clear of things yellow but yellow certainly suits you. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday when it comes around and I suspect there will be another post before Christmas, but if not, Merry Christmas to you and your family. Flossie xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Flossie! I had a great birthday! XXX
DeleteOh it is so hard to pick a favourite outfit as you wear both and accessorise both so well! :)
ReplyDeleteSo exciting it is your birthday soon - happy birthday when it arrives! :)
Hope that your week is going well so far :) I had my last day at work today and now I'm on Christmas holidays, yey! We will need to catch up, maybe after Christmas? The weather is a bit uncertain for me to plan anything now, haha! Stay dry with the predicted storms!

DeleteAs an almost exclusive dress-wearing girl, I love seeing you in a dress, which I don't think I've ever seen before. Although I love both your choices, my favourite by far is your first dress. It's such a pretty frock and suits you so well. This must be one of my favourite outfits of yours ever. Simply sublime and with its gorgeous colours right up my street! I'm swooning over your yellow sandals and the toucan bag is fabulous too! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Ann! I really appreciate your lovely comments! It was a nice surprise to rediscover this dress! XXX
