Are you a Style Chameleon?
This chameleon top is one of my absolute favourites! I love the quirky and fun print and how versatile it is. Just like a real chameleon, it really does go with everything and adapts to being paired with jeans, skirts and patterned pants with ease! Earlier this week, I paired it with this khaki skirt for the first time. It really does complement a neutral or colourful bottom because it is such a statement piece! Wearing this top got me thinking about chameleons and style in general and then prompted me to ponder whether or not I am a style chameleon or someone who sticks with the same style over time?
So what exactly is a Style Chameleon? The first person to come to mind has to be Madonna, right?! In her extensive career, she has experimented with every possible style and trend!
When thinking about fashion models, I immediately think of Linda Evangelista. She
was known as a "chameleon of fashion" because of her ever-changing style and appearance. She was my fave "supermodel" in the 90s for this very reason!
Then there are other famous women, like Jennifer Aniston, that have a certain style that works for them and they stick to it.
So, am I a Style Chameleon? Yes and No! In my twenties I had many different styles and enjoyed trying different trends, hair styles and personas! Isn't that what your twenties are for?! Then my style became more defined and I always wore similar outfits all boho inspired (with a touch of rock edge!) like tie-dye, embroidered pieces, flared jeans,
long flowy skirts, docs and big, bold colourful accessories. This was and still is to an extent, my style. I say to an extent, because my boho style at 42 years of age is a lot more subdued than in my late twenties and thirties. When I see a really boho chic outfit on a 20 year old, I still swoon and wish I could still wear that, but in my current professional life and as a mum of a young child, I have certainly toned it down over time, due to circumstances I guess. Is this what they call growing up??!! Nooooo!!
So, while you are still pondering whether you are a style chameleon or not, here's my outfit!
The Outfit:
Top: H&M
Skirt: Crossroads
Earrings: Lovisa
Ring: Diva
Bag: Anne Klein
Shoes: Rivers

So, what do you think? Are you a Style Chameleon or do you have a well established style that you prefer? Let me know! I'd love to hear from you!
You have sent my mind into thinking if I've ever been a "style chameleon". Maybe? Maybe not? I've tried lots of different styles, both with clothes & hair styles & colours so maybe...yes. Flossiexxx

DeleteLinda Evangelista was my favourite too, although I never forgave her for dating Kyle MacLachlan, whom I had a crush on at the time ;-) I fully admit to having been a style chameleon over the years, but it's fun to experiment, isn't it? Love the chameleon top, which is just perfect with that skirt! Have a lovely weekend, Sasha! xxx
ReplyDeleteHaha! I had a crush on him too! ;) Thanks so much, Ann! XXX
DeleteI definitely agree... Madonna has killed the fashion game from the very beginning. She always surprises with her looks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful top and happy weekend!

Deleteit's such a fun top and looks beautiful on you! I have to say I always admire Jennifer Anniston's style, she always wears classic pieces that work well for her. I think my style is always evolving! It's probably more varied now than it was when I was younger - I used to live in jeans but I have quite a collection of skirts and dresses now!
ReplyDeleteHope that you're having a wonderful weekend :)
