Styling an Orange Paisley Kimono

I've had this kimono for a few years now and it is such a vibrant and fun piece to wear.  It's also so versatile and can be worn over a dress, with a tee and jeans or paired with a skirt.  It's also perfect for days when you're not sure what to wear: throw on a tee and a pair of jeans and then add the kimono for an instant dash of colour and fun!  It comes as no surprise then when I tell you that my fave way to wear this kimono is with jeans and a tee!  I like having a fairly neutral base so then I can add lots of colourful accessories!  


The Outfit:
Top: Sussan
Kimono: Boohoo
Jeans: Suzanne Grae
Shoes: Rivers

Necklace: Rockmans

Earrings: Lovisa

Ring: Rockmans
Bag: thrifted

How funny is this bag I recently thrifted!  As soon as I saw it I laughed so much because cat hair on my clothes is a daily occurrence for me!  No matter how often I vacuum the house and brush Amber, there always manages to be cat hair on my clothes!  

Actually, a funny thing happened the other day when I was dropping my son at school.  One of the other mums who I've seen around before but never spoken to approached me.  Out of the blue she asked:

 "Do you have a cat?"  
"Yes", I replied, wondering where on earth this conversation was heading...
She said "I thought so!  Your clothes are always covered in cat hair!"
"Oh!" I said, with surprise.
"You should really buy a lint roller to get the hair off!" she suggested.
"Oh! Err, um, thanks?" I mumbled.

Then she was gone!  I stood there bewildered wondering what the hell had just happened!!  Who goes up to someone they don't even know and criticises them?  Such a strange encounter!  I had a good laugh later, but at the time I was not amused! I will definitely be steering clear of that woman in the future! Actually, I should take this thrifted bag to school everyday and proudly display to her, and the world that indeed:

No outfit is complete without cat hair!

    I love the cat hair story. Obviously the person has never experienced the pleasure of owning a cat. What a cute bag. I'd like one the same as my cat leaves her hair on my clothes, especially on black tops. I'm getting a bit side tracked, as I think your kimono is gorgeous.Flossie xxx

    That orange kimono is gorgeous, Sasha, I like it especially worn with turquoise top. And how fun is that bag? I think I need one too, as it's a universal truth: indeed no outfit is complete without cat hair! I was completely gobsmacked when I read your cat hair story, and I'm glad you can laugh about it now.     I would definitely be wearing that bag on the school run until she sees it, haha! :)

    I love that colourful kimono - you know I am a big fan of kimonos! - and I like the bright blue and orange combo, although you wear it well in every outfit here!

    Hope your week is going well :) Back to feeling like winter after our summer-like heatwave last week!

    Oh wow that is a strange encounter sounds like something out of Big Little Lies hahaha. But yeah that was a bit much. Love this kimono they are so trending right now and I like how you picked up the colors with the tee and the jewelry.

Eclectic September!
