Nautical Inspired Outfits

The thing I love most about blogging is that it inspires me to not only embrace my own style, but it encourages me to try out other trends.  Nautical inspired outfits are a classic, but have never particularly appealed to me.  In recent times though, I have been drawn to anchor motifs and other fun nautical inspired clothing and accessories.

I thought it would be fun to put together two new outfits from my wardrobe!  Both outfits include my red and white skirt from 10+ years ago.  This skirt is one of my faves and has appeared on the blog several times!  I think it is perfect for a nautical inspired outfit, although at this time of the year it looks more like a Christmassy/ candy cane inspired skirt!  Either way is fine by me! ;) In the first outfit, I paired a top with a print that has triangles on it, but to me they resemble little boats!

For the second outfit, I wore a graphic tee with an anchor on it.  Of course it was only natural that I would also wear my anchor earrings with both outfits!  I really love the colour combo of red, white and blue and have lots of accessories in each colour, so accessorising was easy and lots of fun!

Outfit 1:
Top: Sussan
Skirt: Big W
Shoes: H&M
Ring: Diva
Bag: Banned Apparel

Earrings (worn in both outfits): Tattooed Zombie

Outfit 2:
Top: H&M
Skirt: Big W
Shoes: Cherries Chocolaticas by HCD
Ring & Bracelet: Diva
Bag: Handbag Republic

Which outfit do you prefer?  Let me know!  I'd love to hear from you!

  1. Both outfits look like you had fun putting them together. Skirts like this one can be described as "an oldie & a goodie". It looks good with both tops. I love both bags as well but the cherry shoes look good enough to eat. Flossie xxx

  2. They are both such lovely outfits! I really like how you knotted the tee in the second outfit, but I like them both! Fun outfits inspired by your pretty earrings :)

Hope that you are having a nice week so far! We took the kids out to a special snow event yesterday, it was a lot of fun, but so strange with the summer heat and humidity here in Brisbane, haha! :)

    1. Thanks so much, Mica! This was my first time to knot a tee, but I liked it! ;) That snow event sounds fun! It would've been strange though, especially with how hot it's been! Hope you're having a great week, Mica! XXX

  4. I love nautical inspired outfits, and have some lovely boat and seagull print dresses, not to mention several nautical brooches! Nautical style always shouts high Summer to me! I love both of your outfit choices, and indeed the triangles on that top could easily be sailing boats! The pattern of your red and white skirt are reminiscent of waves! The anchor earrings are especially cute! It's nice to play with the items of your closet, isn't it? xxx
