Oranges & Blues

I usually wake up with a particular print or colour scheme in mind for putting an outfit together.  I usually don't plan ahead with what I'm going to wear, as I like the spontaneity of choosing something I'm in the mood to wear on the day.  That's all well and good for most days, but on days that I sleep in or am running late, I usually default to something very plain and basic and grab a fun and colourful necklace on the way out the door!  As you can imagine, I also find it really hard to pack for holidays away, as I just don't like to plan my outfits ahead of time!  I have got better in recent years with sticking to a particular colour scheme and then packing loads of fun (and light) accessories!  

In the first outfit, I had woken up in the mood to wear orange!  I love to wear orange with blue or green, but this time I chose to go with  earthy brown colours to complete the outfit.  I felt very autumnal in this outfit!  

Outfit 1:
Top: Sussan
Kimono: Boohoo
Skirt: Skallyrags
Sandals: Gino Ventori


Necklace: bought at local pop-up shop

Ring: Lovisa
Bangle: present from Mum (Russia)
Bag: Marikai

As you can gather from the second outfit, I woke up feeling blue!  Luckily just in colour and not disposition! It makes it so easy when I wake up knowing what I want to wear and then building my accessories around my choice.  Trust me, like I said, this doesn't happen every morning!  Sometimes I have no clue what to wear!

Sandals: Gino Ventori


Necklace: bought at local pop-up shop

Ring: Lovisa
Bracelet: present from Mum (Greece)
Bag: Banned Apparel

    I love both outfits, I really like the autumnal colours of the first one and I love the blue in the second of course! :) It's a shame our autumn weather didn't hang around long, at least the nights are cooler!

    I always over pack for trips, but I do try to plan my outfits out the night before at home. It's a work in progress, as sometimes I'll leave accessories until last!

    Unlike you, I'm planning my weekday outfits in advance, but I do assemble more outfits than I actually need so that even on Friday I have a choice! I would never make it out of the door on time if I didn't do any forward planning. In the weekends, however, I'm taking time to choose an outfit, and let inspiration take its course. I'm loving the orange kimono in your first outfit, but my overall favourite is your second, blue outfit. I'd have a problem choosing between the necklaces, though, as they are both gorgeous! xxx

    Both outfits are made even nicer with the necklaces you have chosen. I do like blue myself so am choosing outfit number 2 as my favourite. Welcome back to Amber even if I don't agree with her this time. I thought she may have moved on with private assigments so am pleased she is back. Flossie xxx

Colourful Crop Cardis & Midi Skirts

Our internet is in and out at the moment, so while it's in , I'm going to go for it! The outfits I'm sharing with you today are quite different on the surface, as the colour schemes are dramatically different!  The first one has lots of autumnal colours and a bit of a 1970s vibe and the second one features more summery colours with a slight nautical vibe!  When I wore these outfits recently, I never thought they were similar at all, until I was going through my blog photos and realised both outfits were made up of colourful tees, cropped cardis and midi skirts!  So in that realisation, this post was born! My favourite outfit is the first one, because I haven't worn those colours much before and I was happy pairing these items together for the first time!  I like the second outfit as well, but I do wear blue and red together quite often.  Actually, it might be a good outfit for Australia Day, which is coming up soon! Burgundy & Beads!

Can you believe it is almost the end of February?  I am still getting used to it being 2019, and the second month is already almost over!  This is my last week to get everything sorted out before my postgraduate studies resume again next week.  I haven't even ordered my textbooks yet!  I really need to get organised!   In the outfit I'm sharing today, I'm wearing one of my fave maxi skirts that I've had for many, many years!  I've worn it with many different coloured tops over the years, but this was the first time wearing my new burgundy coloured top.  I love the burgundy and wine colours that are around at the moment.  They're so pretty!
