Studs & Velvet & Birds! Oh, My!

I bought these grey velvet sneakers yesterday and I couldn't wait to wear them today!  They were only $5 from Kmart, so obviously they are not real velvet, but I thought they were cute, so I got them!

I thought I'd stick with a greyish theme by pairing it with my recently purchased black marle studded top and maxi skirt.  I continued the stud theme by adding my studded ring and bag.

As much as I like the look of my new sneakers, they were not very comfortable to wear.  Although, for $5 I'm not too disappointed!  I can always wear them when I go to the cinema or to meet a friend for coffee:  these shoes are definitely not made for walking, that's for sure!😉

The outfit:
Studded Top: Target
Skirt: Skallyrags
Shoes: Kmart

Earrings & Ring: Lovisa
Bracelet: Mimco
Bag: Banned Apparel

Have you ever bought a pair of shoes that turned out to be uncomfortable but you kept them anyway?!  Let me know!  I'd love to hear from you

Thank you for visiting my blog! XXX

  1. Oh, I hate uncomfortable shoes! What a shame, as they seem like a nice pair. I often buy shoes at a cheap local shop, and they always turn out to be the most comfortable ever. Loving the bag! How cute those birds are! xxx

  2. You get what you pay for...They are really cute, though. A note about "real velvet": velvet is a weave (like satin or tweed), not a fabric (Iike cotton or silk). If it has the velvet texture, then it's real velvet - but velvets can come in polyester, silk (very soft), cotton (stiff), and other fibres. If it's velvet on a knit, then it's velour. I love learning stuff like that about clothes, don't you?

I love the rest of your outfit - the pattern mixing is stellar!

  3. I really like your outfit as the mix of patterns really work. What a shame the shoes are only suitable for short outings. I have a cupboard, & more actually, of shoes which look good but certainly don't feel good. I've even found expensive ones can still fall into this category ie. nice to look at but not that good to walk distances. Grin and wear it I guess is the motto???
