Boho Orange!

I am just loving the weather right now and it's so good to start spending more time outdoors.  For most of the summer it was so hot and humid and by mid-morning the UV index was already extreme.  That meant if you wanted to go for a walk outside, you basically had to go either ridiculously early or wait until the sun went to bed!

Therefore, the only exercise I did over summer was in airconditioned comfort, usually walking around and around the shopping centre!  Just like Carrie Bradshaw: shopping is my cardio!

I much prefer to be outside though, so no more wandering aimlessly around the shops spending money I don't have on things I don't need!  (I have a feeling this won't last long so I am not making any promises!).  All I am promising is that I will make a genuine effort to be more active and get some sun and fresh air.  Hopefully this will help me get out of my slump!

I know that volunteering once a week is one thing that is helping me, because it makes me feel good to help others.  What do you do when you feel stuck in a rut, like you're in a slump or have lost your mojo?  Let me know!  I'd love to hear from you!

Oh, I almost forget to mention the outfit!  I have had this kimono for about two years and this is it's first wear.  I had avoided wearing it because I thought it was a bit too bright and looked a bit too much like a dressing gown/robe!  This time when I put it on, I loved it and couldn't care less!  I loved the soft, satin-like fabric, the vibrant colours and the boho vibe of it.  Amber of course loves orange and so she gave this outfit two paws up!!

The outfit:
Top: Sussan
Kimono: Boohoo
Jeans: Suzanne Grae
Shoes: Rivers
Bag: Rockmans

 Necklace: Equip
Ring & Bracelet: Lovisa
Earrings: Bought in Byron Bay

  1. That is such a fun kimono, I'm glad you gave it a wear! :) I usually turn to style challenges if I'm in an outfit rut or feeling uninspired, but not sure that's the kind of slump you're referring too! Getting out and spending more time in the sunshine is always a good idea though I think :)

Hope that you are having a great week so far! :)

  2. I can't believe you kept that fabulous kimono hidden away for so long. Too bright? There is no such thing! I'm glad you finally relented and gave it a go. I'm sure it won't be its last wear. I'm glad the cooler temperatures allow you to spend more time outside. I'm not very good with heat, so I can understand. Meanwhile, I am secretly glad I'm living in Belgium, with its more moderate climate. Who knows, it might even get you out of your slump! xxx

  3. I agree with Ann: there's no such thing as too bright! I love this fun kimono on you, Sasha! Shopping is my cardio as well, ha ha! It's good therapy for me too, as it lets my mind wander away while I'm focused on looking through the thrift racks. When my mojo is down, I do a couple of things: roll with it, be with friends or get back to nature. Rolling with it means I just stay in, read and do little things for myself (dye my hair, trim my nails, do my laundry), and practice self-care. Being with my best friends lets me focus on them, and air my issues, and just get energy from them, knowing they love me for me, flaws and all. And getting back to nature means going for a walk, and really looking at trees, flowers and the beauty around us. It's balm for the soul. I hope your mojo comes back soon, hon.

  4. I'm with the others, there is nothing too bright to wear. The kimono is gorgeous and really suits you. If you are feeling down I think a good idea is to wear bold clothes that you wouldn't normally wear to help lift your spirits. Also try doing things you really like. Try to please yourself and not others although I know this is hard being a Mother to a young person but do try. How about planning a trip to Japan as you said that is your favorite travelling destination????
