Bright in Pink!

In my attempt to regain my missing mojo, I thought a colourful outfit was in order!  As well as dressing in vibrant colours, I thought it was also the perfect time to wear one of my favourite brooches again: Sammy the Sloth!  The thing I like most about wearing Sammy, is that people always smile when they see him.  Seeing others smile is definitely one way to improve my mood.  Shopping is another way! (my earrings and watch are new by the way😉).

Without boring you with details of my waning mojo, it is to do with establishing a new career at 41 years of age.  You see, the Masters course I am doing will qualify me in a new profession that I am passionate about.  The problem is that I have close to zero experience in this new field.  My worry is that when I graduate, finding a job will be difficult without experience.  However, in order to gain experience I need to get a job!  The old catch-22.  It's just so frustrating!  In my previous job I was at the top of my game and now I'll be almost at the bottom. I'm doing volunteer work to gain experience but I can't do the kind of clinical work I need to until I graduate.  Catch-22 again.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent!  I'll be fine and I know it'll all work out fine: it's just so frustrating and mojo-draining!  Anyway, expect to see more colourful outfits as I attempt to fake it til I make it!

The outfit:
Top: Sussan
Crochet cardi & skirt: Suzanne Grae
Shoes: Portland
Cuff & Bag: present from Mum (Cambodia)
Ring: Bold Ray Designs

Earrings: Lovisa

Watch: bought at pop-up shop

  1. Love the brooch as a necklace and you're right, the first thing I did when I saw the sloth was smile! :) I really like your colourful maxi skirt too.

It's awesome you're studying and changing career! I hope it's easier than expected to get a job at the end of your study time, I know it can be tough sometimes but fingers crossed you don't experience that. Just think, you could be one of those that graduate and go onto a new role the next week! :)

Hope that you are having a lovely start to your week! I'm excited for scarf weather, wore a scarf today in the morning!

  2. I love all this bright pink on you, Sasha. Sammy makes me smile too!

Wow, that's a huge change for you! It can definitely be scary to make a big shift in your profession when you're a bit older, but that can also be to your advantage. You have all that experience in your previous profession to draw on, even if it's not the same type of work. I believe in you - you can do this!

    Happy week, m'dear!

  3. Sammy the Sloth put a smile on my face too, and so did your cheerful pink outfit. I think you are very brave making a shift in profession at age 41. I totally understand that it's a bit scary and that it puts a damper on your mojo, but as it's something you are passionate about, I'm sure this will shine through in the end. Like Sheila, I do believe that the fact that you're making this shift at your age, which is not an easy feat, could be to your advantage! xxx
