Here's to a Magical 2018!

A close-up of my new unicorn skirt!

Happy New Year!  I still can't quite believe that 2017 is over and that 2018 has begun! I hope you had an enjoyable NYE, whether you stayed in or ventured out.

This year we decided to stay in.  We had thought about venturing in to the city to see the fireworks, but with the crowds and the heat and humidity, we decided to give it a miss.

We had a lovely night in with a delicious dinner and watched DVDs and played board games in the cool comfort of our air conditioned lounge room! My husband and I played hide and seek in the dark with our seven year old, lighting our way around the house with glow sticks!  There was a lot of giggling and fun to be had, although Amber looked at us like we were crazy running around in the dark!😂

Although we stayed in, I decided to wear my new unicorn skirt. I absolutely love this skirt! The fabric is of a really good quality and I love the pattern!  It's from an Aussie company called Rainbows and Fairies and they have the coolest stuff! (Not sponsored: just love them!😉). I've got my eye on another skirt already with ladybugs all over it!  There's also one with bees circling honey pots! Adorable!

I chose to wear my new unicorn skirt for NYE, because I guess, like unicorns, the start of a new year is magical, in that anything seems possible and the importance of making the most of every moment life brings, seems to be most meaningful.

I don't have any specific new year resolutions for 2018, but I do intend to embrace every day of this year with gratitude and purpose.

The outfit:
Top: Sussan
Skirt: Rainbows and Fairies
Shoes: Holster

The accessories:
Necklace & bracelets: Diva
Ring: Lovisa

Do you have any plans/goals or resolutions for 2018?  Let me know! I'd love to hear from you!

Thank you for visiting my blog! XXX

  1. Oh that is such a fun skirt! Perfect outfit for spending NYE at home. We sent ours at home too, it was so humid here in Brisbane and they predicted storms so even if the boys had been old enough to stay up for the fireworks I don't think we would have gone. I ended up spending it in my pyjamas, fast asleep as expected, haha! I did wake up after midnight when everyone was upset by the fireworks though.

Hope that 2018 is off to an amazing start for you.

  2. I really love that skirt. I'll have to check out the web site where you purchased it from. I haven't made any New Year Resolutions but like you, plan to try to enjoy every day as it comes. However, I am hoping to do some overseas and local travelling during the year. Best Wishes to you, your family and of course, gorgeous Amber for 2018.

  3. We often stay in on New Year's Eve, but this year we celebrate with friends at their house. Your New Year's Eve looks just perfect, and now I know that you have a seven year old! unicorn skirt is just fabulous, and I'm very much taken by the brand name, Rainbows and Fairies! Embracing each day with gratitude and purpose is an intention I can only endorse! xxx
