1976: The year of the Dragon!

Today is my 41st birthday!  I can't believe it's been a whole year since my big 40th birthday last year!  Time sure is flying: just like my Japanese dragon brooch! Did you like that segue?!😉😂

I was born in 1976: the year of the dragon.  My interest in and fascination with dragons started when I studied Japanese language and culture at university.  Since then, I have been drawn to anything with a dragon motif on it: especially when it comes to fashion!  Today I chose to wear my new dragon brooch (birthday present!) and my really old (late 90s) dragon shoes to go to a casual lunch with my family.

    Unfortunately I missed yesterdays posting so Happy Birthday for yesterday. I hope you celebrated your new milestone with much laughter and also with your muse. Dragons are a fascinating icon and are especially significant to anyone born in the year of the dragon.

Colourful Crop Cardis & Midi Skirts

Our internet is in and out at the moment, so while it's in , I'm going to go for it! The outfits I'm sharing with you today are quite different on the surface, as the colour schemes are dramatically different!  The first one has lots of autumnal colours and a bit of a 1970s vibe and the second one features more summery colours with a slight nautical vibe!  When I wore these outfits recently, I never thought they were similar at all, until I was going through my blog photos and realised both outfits were made up of colourful tees, cropped cardis and midi skirts!  So in that realisation, this post was born! My favourite outfit is the first one, because I haven't worn those colours much before and I was happy pairing these items together for the first time!  I like the second outfit as well, but I do wear blue and red together quite often.  Actually, it might be a good outfit for Australia Day, which is coming up soon! Burgundy & Beads!

Can you believe it is almost the end of February?  I am still getting used to it being 2019, and the second month is already almost over!  This is my last week to get everything sorted out before my postgraduate studies resume again next week.  I haven't even ordered my textbooks yet!  I really need to get organised!   In the outfit I'm sharing today, I'm wearing one of my fave maxi skirts that I've had for many, many years!  I've worn it with many different coloured tops over the years, but this was the first time wearing my new burgundy coloured top.  I love the burgundy and wine colours that are around at the moment.  They're so pretty!
